Gay black santa

The book about Santa was written by author Daniel Kibblesmith, an Oak Park native. The plot of Santa’s Husband seems like it’s reverse-engineered from a homophobic racist’s nightmare. Tagged: A. Avon and Somerset Police have announced that they have launched a criminal investigation into the performances of Bob Vylan and also of the Irish-language rap band Kneecap who are known for making pro-Palestinian and political comments during their live performances and have attracted controversy in the past.

“Everyone knows that Santa Claus is jolly, but in Santa’s Husband, this cherished symbol of the holiday season is also black and gay and married to an equally cheery man,” a publisher’s description of the book said. Inthe festival will take a fallow year, a planned pause to allow the Worthy Farm site time to rest and recover.

Illinois Library Marks Christmas

Back in October, author Daniel Kibblesmith and illustrator A. Kibblesmith came under attack after the book hit store shelves—but folks open to the idea of a more inclusive portrait of Christmas rallied to his defense. Everyone knows that Santa Claus is jolly, but in Santa’s Husband, this cherished symbol of the holiday season is also black and gay, and married to an equally cheery man.

He walked us through his process, showed us a few early sketches, and talked through some of the best—and worst—reactions people have had to his holiday opus. By Sammi Caramela.
